Readers and followers of TripAdvisor, the world's largest online travel platform, have named Pantai Cenang in Langkawi among the best beaches in Asia.
The recent edition of "Travellers' Choice: Best Of The Best 2021" list, in which 25 of the most voted beaches in Asia are featured, Pantai Cenang which located on the island of Langkawi, Kedah is listed at number 23, behind Sanur Beach in Bali, Indonesia.
The beach is located on the main island of Langkawi, and it is a large, busy area that is mostly visited by tourists. Apart from relaxing on the beach, swimming in the sea, or participating in water sports, visitors can also visit the nearby restaurants, bars, and attractions, as well as shop for souvenirs at the beachside stalls.
Meanwhile, the countries with the most entries on TripAdvisor's list are Thailand and India with five beaches each.
The entries from Thailand are Nai Harn and Kata Noi beaches in Phuket; Long Beach in Phi Phi Island; Coconut Beach in Phan Nga; and Nong Thale in Krabi.
India has: Varkala Beach in Kerala; Varca, Cavelossim and Agonda beaches in Goa, and Radhanagar Beach in Havelock Island, which is part of the Andaman.
Three popular beaches on Indonesia's Bali made the cut (Kelingking, Nusa Dua and Sanur), as well as Sri Lanka's Bentota and Hikkaduwa beaches (Galle) and Mirissa Beach.
The Philippines' entries are Nacpan Beach in El Nido and White Beach in Boracay, while Japan, Myanmar, Bangladesh and South Korea have one entry each.
Malaysia may have better beaches and islands than some places on this list, but keep in mind that this poll only included votes from TripAdvisor readers and followers/subscribers from all over the world, many of whom are unaware of our other treasures.
