While global travel is taking a backseat due to the current pandemic, Malaysian tourism continues to make waves – virtually. A promotional video released by Tourism Malaysia has reached the juries of The Telly Awards based in New York, USA and won the silver award for Non-Broadcast under the Travel/Tourism category 2020.
The 4-minute video entitled ‘Discover Breathtaking Malaysia’ takes viewers through Malaysia’s touristic attractions as well as hidden gems for travellers to explore, complete with suggestions for captions and hashtags on social media.
Essentially, the video captures the bountiful treasures that await travellers in Malaysia and it was picked among other entries that were reviewed by the Telly Awards Judging Council. The awards were founded in 1979 and the objective is to honour excellence for television and video across all screens.
Even though the video was initially produced in line with Malaysia’s aspirations for Visit Malaysia Year 2020 which has since been cancelled due to the pandemic, the message still stands.
Malaysia is blessed with not only natural attractions such as its tropical rainforests filled with rich biodiversity but also its rich cultural diversity which gives birth to our national identity that makes Malaysia an ideal tourist destination, for domestic as well as international travellers.
