Hiking at Taman Negara, relaxing on the Islands of Malaysia, and see the wild orangutans of Borneo was among the greatest travel experiences manage to make the list.
Sitting at No.20, Wanderlust listed lounging or relaxing on islands in Malaysia as one of the greatest travel experiences and they choose to highlight The Perhentian Islands.
As we know, the Perhentian Islands offer the best nature experience we can get. With lush forest scenery, unspoiled white beaches, and of course; a lot of scuba diving spots.
Another travel experience that manages to sit on number 26 on the list is 'See wild orangutans in Borneo'.
Although the list explicitly mentions 'wild' orangutans, they are actually a very shy animal and always hiding in the forest due to being hunted and so on. Wanderlust also added that the best way to see them is in the wildlife sanctuaries such as in Sepilok or Semenggoh. We visited Semenggoh Wildlife Centre previously and it can be said that the orangutans there are semi-wild they are free to roam around throughout the nature reserve.
Last but not least, our 130 million years old rainforest; Taman Negara is also included in the list at number 84.
Taman Negara National Park is the perfect place if you love the rainforest and outdoor activities. Experience walking on the world’s longest canopy walkway, visiting the aborigine village, trekking under the rainforest canopy, climbing the highest mountain in Peninsular Malaysia, caving, fishing, camping, observing wildlife, and many more. You can start your tour from 4 departure points – Taman Negara, Jerantut, Kuala Lumpur, and Sungai Relau.
