According to health minister Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba, the government plans to issue the Covid-19 Passports to verify people who already taken the vaccine.
Dr Adham also added that; they are currently proposing two ways of doing it, have it (proof of vaccination) displayed in the MySejahtera application or maintain the proof in physical form which is a passport that can be accepted by other countries.
Speaking at a press conference after the arrival of the first batch of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine here yesterday, Dr Adham said the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (Mosti) is in the midst of refining the plan.
Meanwhile, the public is urged to start tourism activities at local locations in the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) areas, following the government allowing tourism activities to operate in both areas.
Advising the public to travel safely, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the move would be able to support the growth of the country's tourism sector.
Last Thursday, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said tourism activities such as zoos, aquariums and recreational parks in CMCO and RMCO areas were allowed to operate at a capacity of 50 per cent of the premises, but for MCO and EMCO areas, activities travel in and out of the area is not allowed.
