Beach holiday is one of the favourite getaway for Malaysian. Each year, 'beach' destination like Langkawi, Perhentian, Redang, Tioman and others will be flocked with locals spending their valuable time with family, friends and even for a 'me-time'.
There is no exact rule or right and wrong to pack for a beach holiday, but there is always the best practice. You obviously don't want to wear your designer shoe or jeans to the beach right?
From basics to extras, and from toiletries to luxury relaxation, you won’t forget a thing if you stick to these beach necessities.
THE BASICS: BEACH PACKING CHECK LIST
Even if you plan to lounge on the beach and do nothing else, there are some basic items you want to include in your beach packing list.
Sunscreen
Sunglasses

A good book - if you are in the mood of reading
Sandals - a must!
Tank tops
Shorts

Cell phone and charger
Underwear
Pajamas
Toothbrush

If you plan to sightsee or do anything else, your beach holiday checklist is probably more extensive. You may include walking shoes and socks, additional toiletries like makeup, and more lightweight clothing.
If you are planning to spend more time on the beach, you might want to bring a mat and a waterproof bag to put your stuff.
Other things to consider includes:
Goggles
Snorkel - if you plan to snorkel
Beach towel - to act as a mat, if you don't have any.
Sarong - to be used when you want to change your cloth or can be use as blanket, if it gets too cold.

TRAVEL HEALTH
Either you are packing for the beach holiday or other destination, don’t forget prescription medications and other items for your health. You don’t want to ruin your holiday by getting sick.
Standby some paracetamol for headache or other medicine. Personally, I always have my 'travel emergency kit' that contains medicine for common illness such as flu, fever, nausea and headache.
If you are going anywhere for the time being, take extra precautions like using hand sanitizer (even after washing your hands), and pack an extra face-mask.
