Day 01: Arrival + Borneo Cultures Museum + Kuching City Tour (L/D)

  • Borneo Cultures Museum | City Heritage Tour | Court House, Monument, Temple & Waterfront

  • Arrival at Kuching.

  • Lunch at a local Cuisine Restaurant.

  • Visit Borneo Culture Museum - The New Sarawak Museum is a new landmark of Kuching city and consists of two buildings namely the Borneo Cultures Museum and Annex Office Building. The Borneo Cultures Museum is a modern five-storey building with a distinctive architectural design that reflects Sarawak’s unique traditional crafts and rich cultural heritage.

  • Kuching City for City Heritage Tour - Old Court House, Charles Brooke Monument, Square Tower, China Town, Tua Pek Kong Temple, Main Bazaar, Chinese History Museum & Kuching Waterfront.

  • Dinner.

  • Back to hotel and rest.


Day 02: Bako National Park (B/L)

  • National Park Experience | Trek Through Mangrove Forest | Wildlife & Proboscis Monkey

  • Hit the road bright and early and depart for a 45-minute drive to Bako Fishing Village. Continue your journey via boat for a 30-minute cruise along the coastal charms to finally reach to Bako. Talk a walk through the park’s information centre where information about the natural history is available. Trek through the mangrove forest to observe the mud skippers and blue-fiddler crabs. Follow on through the trails and be on the lookout for proboscis monkeys, bearded pigs, silver leaf monkeys and other wildlife.  

  • Lunch at Muara Tebas Seafood and back to Kuching.

  • Dinner at your own choice for the night and back to hotel.


Day 03: Bengoh Dam Valley Tour (B/L/D)

  • Boat Ride | Hike & Trek to Waterfall | Free & Easy

  • 8.30am Pick up from hotel and proceed for 1 hour 15 minutes journey to Bengoh Dam.

  • 9.45am Arrive at Bengoh Dam, registered at the guard’s house proceed for 15 minutes boat ride across the lake.

  • 10.00am Arrive at the bank and begin 30 minutes of hiking to the 1st waterfall, Curtain Waterfall. Take a short break and continue to trek to Susung Waterfall.

  • 10.30am Arrive at Susung Waterfall, enjoy the scenic view and have some photos taken.

  • 11.00am Return to Curtain Waterfall to arrive 11.30am. Swim at the cool stream.

  • 12.30pm Proceed to Homestay for lunch prepared by the host.

  • After lunch, free to explore the surrounding area.

  • 6.30pm. Dinner time and enjoy the quiet evening. Overnight at the homestay. (Basic accommodation with basic amenities only – bed & mattress).


Day 04: Bengoh Dam to Kuching (B)

  • Nature Appreciation | Free & Easy

  • Breakfast at the homestay.

  • Explore and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings.

  • 11.00hrs: Take the boat back to the Bengoh Dam.

  • 12.00noon: Transfer for lunch at your own expense.

  • 1.00pm Dropped off at city hotel and have a good rest.


Day 05: Sematan + Tanjung Datu National Park (B/L/D)

  • Local Coffee Shop | Boat Ride | Short Walk/Hike to Viewpoint | Relax on Beach | Night Walk | Turtle Nesting Experience

  • Depart from Hotel at 0800 am and proceed by road (approx. 2 hours) to the small coastal town of Sematan. Have an early lunch in a local coffee shop or restaurant and then continue by road to the Malay fishing village of Telok Melano. Around 1300 hours take a boat (approx. 20 mins) to Tanjung Datu National Park. Arrive at Tanjung Datu National Park, walk across the beach and settle in at the park HQ. (Note: when the tide is low or sea conditions prevent boat landings at the park HQ, arrival is at a nearby small bay (Telok Upas) followed by a 15-minute walk to the park HQ.)

  • After settling in, go on a short walk on either the Telok Upas, Viewpoint or Belian trails. Return to the park HQ around 1600 hours. The rest of the day is at your own leisure. Relax on the beach, have a swim or visit the turtle hatchery. Enjoy dinner at the park HQ. After dark, go on a short night walk and search for wildlife such as wild boar, sambar deer, mouse deer, barking deer, civet cats and other nocturnal creatures. Return to the park HQ. Your guide will inform you if any turtles come ashore at night to nest. If so, the rangers will allow you to watch the turtles but only when they have started laying eggs. Please note turtle sightings are not guaranteed. Overnight at the camping shelters.


Day 06: Tanjung Datu National Park (B/L/D)

  • Jungle Trekking | Forest Trail Wildlife Spotting | Relax on Beach | Turtle Nesting Experience

  • After breakfast, around 0800 hours go for a jungle trek along the Pasir Antu Laut trail. Enjoy the forest scenery along the 2.7 km trail and keep a lookout for wildlife. Gibbons, banded langurs and hornbills are sometimes spotted on this trail. Midway along the trail, you will come to a small stream. Take a short break before continuing through the pristine forest to Antu Laut beach. Have a swim at the beach before returning along the forest trail. Halfway along the trail turn left onto a small track that leads to the main turtle beach. Huge boulders are found along the coast here where the rainforest runs right down to the beach. Admire the views before walking back along the beach to the park HQ arriving around 1300-1400 hours. Have a late lunch at the park HQ. The rest of the day is free for leisure. Go snorkelling near Telok Upas or alternatively go for another walk or relax on the beach. Dinner at the park HQ. If there is a turtle landing, your guide will wake you up during the night. Overnight at the camping shelters.


Day 07: Tanjung Datu National Park + Sematan (B/L)

  • Forest Trail Short Walk | Relax on Beach | Depart For Kuching | Local Coffee Shop

  • After breakfast, free & easy, relax on the beach or go swimming. Alternatively, go on a short walk on one of the park trails. Around 1200 hours board a boat and travel to Telok Melano. Then continue by road to Sematan and have lunch in a local restaurant or coffee shop. Then return to Kuching by road, arriving around 1700 hours. You will be dropped off at your city hotel in Kuching.


Day 08: Departure (B)

  • Free & Easy

  • Hotel breakfast and transfer to Airport



Note:

*This tour is available from March to November. Tanjung Datu is not accessible by boat during the monsoon months owing to the high seas. Some activities are subject to weather conditions and may be re-organised to best meet operational situations.
